Merry October IV

Merry October! I never meant to abandon this space completely, I decided on taking a break over the summer (aside from book posts), and had planned on coming back in September. Obviously that didn't happen, but I've done a Merry October post since 2014 and I didn't want to miss out on this year, so I figured better late than never with this post while there's still a few days left in the month.

What I've been up to: I mentioned on instagram a little while ago, but the biggest thing since I last blogged is I'm pregnant! We are so excited and anxiously awaiting my due date. I'm just over the halfway point and I've been pretty sick the entire time, which has been harder than I would like to admit, but I'm so grateful every single day.

What I'm eating this week: Chicken potpie is one of my favorite comfort foods, and I always go back to this Pillsbury recipe because it's so quick and easy! I always feel super fancy making a roux, and this time I skipped the onion and just used frozen carrots and peas with rotisserie chicken and it was delicious. We put some of the apples we picked at the orchard to good use and made these hand pies (just stuck with Pillsbury for the crust instead of making it from scratch)-- they were good, but I think I definitely prefer apple pie or apple crisp.

What I'm watching: Hallmark Christmas movie are almost back and I may or may not have already queued up the DVR to record Snowbride so I can watch it endlessly all season long. I'm also really excited for season 2 of Stranger Things this weekend!

What I'm reading: I was in the mood for something (halloween) festive, so I've been reading the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina (the ebook is free for amazon prime). Sidenote: I tried to watch Sabrina the Teenage Witch (also free on amazon prime), but it was so corny I couldn't make it through an entire episode even though I used to love it when I was younger! The comic is definitely the exact opposite and super dark.

What I'm wearing: Lindsay has forever been raving about how awesome these Old Navy swing dresses are so I finally picked one up when I was ordering some maternity leggings. The original version seems to always be sold out so I got the mock neck version instead-- it kind of has a 60's style mod vibe to it. I didn't realize until I got it that it's a sweater material, not knit, but it's still super comfortable and flowly without being too flowly. I'm definitely keeping my eye open for the knit version because I'm obsessed with the dark green color.

What I'm excited about: I'm trying really hard not to get ahead of myself because it feels like fall just started since it's finally (hopefully) starting to cool down, but I'm really excited about the holidays.

What I'm looking forward to next month: My mom is coming to visit, being one month closer to my due date, and being in the holiday swing of things!

What have you been up to lately? Are you watching any new fall shows?

My favorite Hallmark Christmas movie (or it might be ABC Family?) is The 12 Dates of Christmas. Have you seen that one? Super cute - You should check it out this year if not!
