Midweek Inspiration

I know a lot of you can relate when I say this week has been so cold and miserable and I couldn't come up with anything I wanted to post.

We have this magnet on our fridge and it's one of my favorite quotes so I thought I would share it here. I love little reminders like this and always have index cards and sticky notes of bible verses and quotes all over.

I'm onto my fourth book for the month so I'm feeling pretty confident in my 35 book goal for the year! If only I can keep this up all year long... I'm going to do a monthly recap post next week to hopefully help keep me on track with my other goals as well!

Anyway, I hope everyone is having a good week and if you're not I hope this quote helps to lift your spirits a little bit!

Current Winter Makeup

Last week I shared my new makeup storage so today I thought I would go through my current everyday makeup items.

SkinnyTaste Taco Dip

I know all the holiday parties are over but if you're looking for a quick and delicious dip to take to a party (or just enjoy at home) I definitely recommend this taco dip! It's another skinny taste recipe I made a couple of weeks ago for a friend's birthday party. It's similar to a seven layer dip without all the layers.

Airports, Movies, Haircuts, etc. (thankful thursday link up)

I wasn't thrilled about traveling alone but the sunset as I waited like three hours for my flight was gorgeous. fun fact: I would rather be like six hours early for a flight then risk missing it or having to rush!

I tried to be healthy at the airport and got jamba juice. confession: I actually didn't really like it & was mad I wasted $5!

I finally saw August: Osage County with my mom. We really enjoyed the movie-- the acting was amazing. We went to a matinee and it only cost $6.50 which is crazy to me.

Made no bake cookies again-- with crunchy peanut butter & they turned out just as good as the first batch!

I had four inches of my hair cut off. For $30. Amazing.

Glittery nail polish: OPI it's my year from the katy perry collection a few years back.

Game night. Clue is one of my all time favorite games. I never win.

A safe flight home and another gorgeous view from above the clouds.

Come link up with Katie, Mia, and Kristal and share what you've been thankful for lately!

Ultimate Wish List (January 2014)

There are like two dozen really fun beauty products I would love to try out if I had endless funds! However, these six products are topping any wish list I have right now.

1. Anastasia Brow Wiz: I don't go crazy with filling in my eyebrows but it's something that impacts the rest of my face so much that I think I owe it to myself to try some other products to see how they work out for me. I currently use Benefit's brow zing and like it, but not enough to not try anything else.

2. Josie Maran Argan Oil Hair Serum: I got my haircut this past weekend so it's in good shape but it's long & definitely needs extra help to keep the ends from getting dry! The only hair oil I've used is the organix brand that I really don't care for but have been trying to use up for like two years!

3. REN ClearCalm 3 Replenishing Night Serum: I want to start incorporating a night cream product into my routine and after doing a lot of research I think this might be perfect for me. It's for acne-prone and sensitive skin. This product would probably be last on my list to buy though!

4. Too Faced Shadow Insurance: I ran out of this a few weeks ago and haven't purchased another one yet because I haven't really been wearing eye shadow so it hasn't been a priority. I thought about trying the nars eyeshadow base because I've heard amazing things about it...BUT I think I'll stick with the too faced because I really don't have any complaints and I prefer the packaging + it's more product.

5. Supergoop! CC Cream: I first heard about this from Katie-- and have read nothing but amazing reviews! I've never tried a CC cream but think it might work wonders on my skin because I deal with so much redness.

6. Ole Henriksen Truth Serum: Serums and face oils are something I've also neglected to use on my skin but knew I wanted to start incorporating one into my routine. A couple of weeks ago I read Elena's post on her favorite skincare products and knew I wanted to try the truth serum. It's oil-free serum that is supposed to be amazing in diminishing dark spots.

Do you have any beauty products you're really wanting to try? I'm in need of a new foundation but need to go get some samples before I decide which one to go with!

Perfect No Bake Cookies

My husband doesn't like chocolate and peanut butter. Which is completely insane to anyone who hears this and I have to agree. I personally believe there are few better combinations-- I prefer peppermint & chocolate together-- but I love a good chocolate & peanut butter mixture.

No bake cookies were something of a staple in my family growing up. They are terribly easy but tricky at the same time. I remember making them once and having them actually turn out...if you've ever made them you'll know what I mean.

Fashion Favorites (golden globes 2014)

The Golden Globes were last night and I was able to convince my husband to flip back and forth between the red carpet and the playoff games. I'm usually not a fan of the actual awards portion of the award shows-- I find them to be entertaining but usually a bit on the obnoxious side but we did watch a little of it between Downton Abbey (which completely broke my heart! ahh).

Michelle Dockery: In the past I haven't been a big fan of her red carpet looks but I loved this look! I think the dress is so beautiful and feminine and I love everything about her hair & makeup!

SkinnyTaste Chicken Rollatini with Spinach

I'm not much of a cook-- I have a few basic recipes I can make but when it comes to cooking meat I rarely make any attempts that don't involve the crock pot because I become insanely paranoid things aren't cooked well enough. I need to invest in a good thermometer! When I came across this chicken recipe on Skinny Taste I thought I would give it a try and it turned out SO GOOD. I almost couldn't believe I made it myself!

I love vegetables but spinach just isn't one that I really care for-- especially cooked-- so I love recipes that allow you to mix in a little bit. I also love mozzarella cheese so this looked delicious! The ingredients are pretty basic for the most part but it requires quite a bit of dishes to complete.
