Loving Lately

I guess I'm really feeling the random, more spontaneous posts again this month for the first time in a while. Sharing five random recommendations: a tv show, an accessory, a drink, a recipe, and a book.

1. I've been meaning to mention the Great British Baking Show forever, but it's easily the best reality TV ever. The baking element of it is great and super interesting, but the contestants and the judges are ALL SO NICE. It's so pleasant to watch, and it's hilarious. There are 3 seasons on Netflix, but I'm hoping more will be added at some point.

2. I'm not a big music person so I've always been totally fine with the standard apple headphones that come with your phone... until the cord ended up being really annoying when I was at the gym. I got a pair of wireless headphones for my birthday, and had one of those moments where I don't know how I ever survived without them. It's obviously way more convenient for working out, but also awesome for doing the dishes or things things around the house if you want to listen to something without keeping your phone on you.

3. I think the coconut milk mocha macchiato (iced) is my favorite Starbucks drink of all time. It's not overly sweet or strong- definitely recommend trying!

4. We made this parmesan crusted flounder for dinner this weekend and it was so good & so easy to prepare. It's definitely a one dish (plus whatever pan you bake it in) recipe, which is my favorite & you probably have almost all of the ingredients needed in your kitchen already.

5. I talked about this back in March when I read it, and I'll probably talk about it again at the end of the year, but Pachinko has been my favorite book of the entire year so I thought it was worth mentioning again. I got to see Min Jin Lee speak/do a reading last week and it was so incredible to learn about what inspired the story.

What have you been loving lately?

  2. Pachinko has moved way up on my list thanks to your review! It sounds totally different than everything else I've been reading this year. I have bluetooth headphones too - like you, I really saw nothing wrong with generic headphones until I got the bluetooth ones! I love using them when I'm doing chores around the house so I can listen to podcasts or audiobooks (especially when washing dishes because it's hard to hear with the water intermittently running :)).

  7. My sister-in-law was just telling me to watch the Great British Baking Show. I don't feel like I get it, but maybe I'll give it a try. I need wireless headphones, especially if I want to upgrade my phone. I hate having to wear my phone armband when I clean. And I added that book to my TBR. Thanks for the recs and for linking up!

  8. Isn't that drink from Starbuck's amazing?! I am just so glad that the coffee shop in my office doesn't make those otherwise I would be in trouble! And I think wireless headphones would be amazing. I always take my headphones out when running because I end up hitting the cord and yanking them out of my ear haha.

  13. I have never gotten into reality shows but the Great British Baking Show sounds really good, mostly because the people on it are nice! Usually on reality TV the contestants are so cutthroat and the judges are so mean so this sounds like a nice alternative!
I should get some wireless headphones - I'm still using the basic ones that came with my phone too & they seem fine but I know the wireless would probably be a game changer!

  17. I need some wireless headphones. I'm the idiot that has a headphone situation every time I go to the gym. I'm surprised that my phone hasn't shattered yet.
