Last weekend we did a major clean of our house and had to run to Target to pick up a few additional cleaning supplies. We took a quick spin through the home decor section and found the lamp we wanted months ago. We had seen it in the store and had it in and out of our shopping cart online, but I don't like buying things unless they're on sale, so we kept waiting & then we waited too long and the gold was forever sold out (or so we thought). It was stuck on one of those sale endcaps-- though sadly it wasn't actually on sale, so after taking it in and out of cart we finally decided to just get it. We figured if we still wanted it all these months later, and we actually do need a new lamp, it was worth it.
I decided to go for carrot cake loaf, and trying to shred a pound of carrots without a food processor was not an easy task. I couldn't find one of our loaf pans, so I had to bake them one at a time and I wasn't quite sure how to adjust the bake time, but all was good in the end. As far as the consistency, it was perfect. It wasn't quite as sweet as I would have liked (I wanted to frost every side of every piece I ate), but if you like breads that aren't overly sweet, you'd probably love the recipe. Once I forget how much effort it took to shred the carrots, I think I'm going to try out this carrot cake recipe.
I don't know if it's fall approaching, but I've been craving new makeup lately but I didn't allow myself to fall too deeply into the new section on the Ulta website when I reordered my foundation. I recently got rid of like 80% of my nail polish, so I did order one new nail polish and it's the perfect color for fall. Yank My Doodle from the OPI Washington DC collection (which is actually more of a Scandal line I think?).
I was going to do a post on nail colors for fall until I realized I did this one last August and it would have contained the exact same polishes, plus the new one.
