Friday Favorites & Sephora Haul

Happy Friday! I haven't done a favorites post or a haul in a while so I thought I'd combine the two for double the fun. Most of the links in this post are affiliate links so if you click and/or purchase anything I get a few cents. Linking up my Friday favorites with Amanda & Tiff!

I'm probably like ten years late on trying this, but I'm loving the turbie twist towels. I never considered them because I thought my hair was way too long to fit into such a tiny towel, but somehow it works and they feel so much better than having a huge heavy towel wrapped around my head. I picked up a two pack at Home Goods for $8 or $9.

Rarely do I repaint my nails the same color but I've had Orly Cotton Candy on repeat on my nails and L'Oreal Butterfly Kisses on my toes.

I like to shop online at Forever 21 from time to time but usually the only time I go into the store is if I need to return something. While I was at the mall returning part of my Sephora order I decided to pop into Forever 21 and found this off-the-shoulder dress randomly stuck in front of a rack full of other black miscellaneous items. The material is a bit on the thin side, but for under $15 I was sold and think it's going to get a ton of wear this summer.

Also under $15 are these Reeboks I got from DSW when we were in Boston. They were in the clearance section and then I had a $20 off coupon, plus the no sales tax thing and they were the most affordable pair of shoes I've ever purchased. Most of my tennis shoes are either black or bright colors so it's nice to have a neutral pair to add to the mix.

My parents gave me this really cool Alex & Ani bracelet for my birthday last weekend and I'm obsessed. I love how casual it is- it goes with everything and it's adjustable so I don't have to worry about it being too big and slipping off. Mine is the key to life meaning the key to happiness is once you realize you have the power to choose your destiny.

I only picked up a few things from the Sephora VIB sale this time, despite my growing wish list. Plus, I'm waiting for my Ulta birthday coupon to use with a gift card (thanks mom!) so I didn't want to go too crazy with Sephora.

Rainforest of the Sea Lip Quench | I was so excited for this lip tint-- plus the packaging is really cute. When I first tried it on I was really impressed- it had an extremely glossy finish and felt moisturizing so I thought it was definitely going to be a new favorite. That wasn't exactly the case because as soon as it started to wear off my lips were dry and chapped, which is never a good sign so  ended up returning this.

Bright Future Color Correctors | I added this to my bag because it was a more affordable color correcting option. I got it in green to combat redness, but I ended up returning it without even opening it because I didn't see myself actually using it very often. A lot of the time I don't even wear regular concealer so adding an additional step didn't seem realistic.

Sugar Lip Treatment | I finally understand the hype behind these lip balms, but it wasn't quite what I was expecting. I'm not sure if it varies by shade, but I got petal and it has the strangest smell-- it kind of reminds me of happy colas or something along those lines? I can get over the scent because I love everything else about it and will definitely eventually pick up a different shade.

belif True Cream Moisturizing Bomb | This could actually double as a favorite & was my one repurchase of this order. I'm almost done with my first container that I got in January-- at first I was just using it at night, but during some really dry skin spurts over the winter, this was amazing to use before applying my makeup- it actually goes on over your makeup too if you have any flaky spots. If you have dry and/or sensitive skin I highly recommend for a heavy moisturizer (that goes on super lightweight)!

Any recent favorites or new products you've tried out? Has anyone tried out any of the new color correcting products that are everywhere?

  8. Those hair twist towels - I use them & LOVE them too.. .but they NEVER dry my hair. I'll wear one for an hour, take my hair down & its still soaking wet. I dont know how that works. haha. But I do love how it keeps it in place without falling over.

  14. I have to wear sneakers right now for my foot so I'm in the market for a cute pair! I also need a new pair of gym shoes anyway. Not totally relevant but since you mentioned it, what's your favorite pair of black tennis shoes?
I almost ordered some things during the Sephora sale but then I didn't and now I'm kicking myself! I really want a new blush palette. I have an Hourglass one that's about a year and a half old and could definitely use replacing. I got two of the sugar lip treatments whatever year it was that that was the Sephora birthday gift, and I really liked them and have always meant to pick up a full size one. I remember them having kind of a weird smell, not bad but just not what I was expecting I guess.

  15. That sucks that the Tarte lip treatment didn't work, especially since most of their products are so nice! I just started using the Belief bomb and it's amazing! I love using it in the mornings, and it keeps my skin feeling great all day!
