Confessions

I've never been big into confession posts, but I've had a few of these in my drafts for a couple of months and figured it was finally time to writeup a full post. My first confession really could be that I can't believe there are only two days left of April-- but haven't we all been saying that with every passing month of this year?

... I was initially really annoyed with the new Bloglovin' feed situation. I didn't like that random people kept showing up on my feed even though I was no longer following them (or their blog), but I've actually found a couple of really great posts from blogs that I don't follow because someone I do follow liked their post.

... I'm really bad at revisiting to-do/bucket lists on my blog, which is why I don't really write them anymore even though I love reading other people's posts. I was looking back on my summer bucket list for 2014 (that I never finished updating), and it definitely helped me be more intentional with our weekend activities, so I think a list for summer 2016 is coming soon!

... I finally watched Fuller House a couple of months ago when my husband was super sick and I liked it so much I've considered re-watching the season all over again. I wasn't even that excited when it was first released because I thought it would be way too cheesy (it is), but it's really cute-- and probably just a nice change from all of the dark and intense shows we usually watch.

... I made these chocolate coconut bars a few weeks ago and sent a bunch of them to work with my husband. I still had quite a few left over so I saved one and threw the rest away so I wouldn't be tempted to eat them (all in once day). Later I regretted that decision & definitely almost had a Miranda moment, but I resisted. #sugaraddict

... I don't know if I want to see Me Before You. I  l o v e d  the book- it's one of my all-time favorites- and the movie looks like it's going to be really well done, but I just don't want to be sad all over again.

...Speaking of books and movies- I do want to see The Girl on the Train even though I wasn't totally crazy about the book. Emily Blunt definitely isn't who I pictured for Rachel, but I'm kind of thinking that's a good thing because from the trailer she doesn't seem as unlikable as in the book.

  1. i switched from bloglovin to feedly because bloglovin was too busy and confusing! at least you find some good articles/blogs out of that chaos.

  2. I'm not too crazy about the new Bloglovin feed either, I liked it way better before when I only got to see posts from blogs that I actually read. I'm very excited to see The Girl on the Train! I really liked the book and I just saw the trailer so I think it will be a good one.

  3. I am not sure that I can handle Me Before You either. That book broke my soul. I will probably watch it though because I am a glutton for punishment and tears lol. I am not loving the Bloglovin changes, it just clutters up my feed and there was a reason I un-followed all of these people many moons ago. But it is a free service, so I feel I can only complain so much. At least you found the good in it!

  4. I feel the same way about the Bloglovin' feed! It's kind of annoying, but once in a while I find a good post I wouldn't have found otherwise. I have one person in front of me at the library for Me Before You, so then I finally can read the book and then get excited for the movie. I also loved Girl on the Train, so I'm pretty excited for that, too - I think Justin Thoreoux is going to be great as the ex husband.

  6. I so want to see the movie, but I know I am going with no make up on because I just know I'm going to cry it all off.

Bloglovin' is just having stupid issues lately. I dont know why I cant organize blogs anymore or even delete them - they never go away. I feel like I contact them every week complaining.

  7. I just checked out the girl on the train trailer. Definitely looks interesting. I didn't love the book either but it took me forever to read it so parts of it are really fuzzy for me.

  8. I didn't like the new Bloglovin' feed AT ALL, but then I realized if you click 'blog feed' instead of being on the default 'my feed' it's only the blogs you follow. (But I follow way too many so finding more stresses me out! Ha!)

I loved Girl on the Train, but I'm kind of frustrated with the casting because I got the impression from the book that Rachel wasn't a size 0 (even though I absolutely love Emily Blunt).

  9. Emily Blunt is Rachel?! Nooo. I definitely don't see it that way. The movie always messes up the picture of the characters in my head. :P

I really like Fuller House, too!

  10. I feel less irritated now than I did at first about the whole Bloglovin thing, but what I hated when they made the initial switch was that they showed me EVERY blog I've ever followed, even ones I unfollowed literally years ago. Also, so with you on Fuller House—so cheesy, but such a nice indulgence and just plain fun to watch :)

  11. I tried to get into Fuller House but I couldn't for some reason. I might give it another go though the next time I'm in slob mode! Those bars look amazing, you have some willpower!

  12. I really liked Fuller House too, we enjoyed it. I haven't read Me Before You, I don't typically read novels (I'm a weirdo) but I thought the movie looked really good.

  13. I so know what you mean about the movie...I loved the book, but only read it after I saw the previews of the movie and it was super sad!! I feel you on fuller house - it was a nice change from all the sad shows out there! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston

  14. I've never one for bucket lists ever, but having a 101 in 1001 list really has made me be more intentional, like you said. I just need to get better about updating it! I still haven't watched Fuller House, and I know that it needs to change! I'm so ready for all the cheesiness! I love Emily Blunt so much, and I think that she'll be perfect as Rachel too! I can't wait to see Girl On The Train on the big screen!

  15. YESSSSS to Girl on the Train (but also to Me Before You, too) - it should be really good (although the movie is set in NY instead, right?). Your chocolate coconut treats sound amazing but I bet I'd have to throw out any leftovers too ha.

  16. Those chocolate coconut bars look amazing! And I couldn't agree more about The Girl on the Train. I'm excited for the movie, but Emily Blunt is definitely not who I pictured Rachel to be at all! I also pictured the neighborhood/houses to look different. But I can't wait!

  17. I had the same thoughts about the Bloglovin' feed, but I have found some great posts/blogs because of it! It's still a lot to deal with, but can be okay. Girl, I've almost had a Miranda moment, too. I made a pumpkin bread last week and did the same thing!

  18. Those bars look soo good!! I'm going to have to try them!

  19. I'm a book lover that really enjoys seeing movie adaptations too. I think I go into it without having too many expectations, so I'm not disappointed.
I recently posted a bucket list, and I haven't looked at it since. HAHA!

  20. I want to read Me before You so badly! I definitely need to read it before the movie comes out. I want to see it only because I love both the actor and actress that were cast in it!

  21. I'm not loving the Bloglovin feed either bc I miss posts by people I follow. And I loved Fuller House too. Super cheesy but cute.

  22. I typically don't see movies of books I loved.

I hate Bloglovin' period and moved to Feedly a while ago! I'm glad you found some new blogs to enjoy though. That's a bonus.

  23. i am really weird because i LOVE seeing movies when i've read the book haha. even if i think they will suck, i just love watching them and seeing the difference.
i haven't watched fuller house yet! i started to watch it a few weeks ago and KC made a few faces/noises and i was just like okay shut up, i will watch it one day when you're not home lol.
i must use bloglovin different than most people because i didn't have any issues with people popping up where they didn't belong, but i am glad you found a few new blogs or whatever through it, maybe that was their whole mischievous plan? lol

  25. i get annoyed with bloglovin when i get emails that say, So and So just liked THIS post. like idc! that's their business! hehe. why throw away those when you can send them to ME! hehe.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Those bars look amazing! I'm always the same way with sending them to other people's houses because otherwise I'll end up eating all the sweets-haha

  27. I'm not sure how I feel about the Bloglovin' feed just as yet. I feel like it's more cluttered now but you have a good point in finding some good articles through bloggers you follow.

  28. Totally agree with the casting of Girl on The train...not who I pictured, but that may be a good thing!

  29. I didn't really love The Girl On the Train (the book) but I am totally excited to see the movie! And I think I want to rewatch Fuller House too. It was so fun! Can't wait for Season Two!

  30. Haha I am so no with it, The Girl on The Train is coming out as a movie?!?! I did like the book, so will be interesting to see the movie! I've yet to read Me Before You, guess I better get on that train..!

  31. HOW DID I NOT KNOW THAT GIRL ON THE TRAIN WAS GOING TO BE A MOVIE?!!? I just watched the trailer...it actually doesn't look too bad and Emily Blunt looks like she does a good job but TOTALLY not who I pictured at all. Maybe it was just me...but I pictured more of a Rebel Wilson lol. Is that weird? And that blonde girl looks way too much like the main character from Gone Girl making it seem a bit like a knock off. I don't know. I think I need to stop over here more just so I know what is going on in the world lol, I am such a big loser. Okay and yeah those bars look amazing and you sound exactly like me - when I bake I either pack them all up for my husband or force myself to throw them away. Or I will eat every single one. No one ever believes me, but it's true.
