Pass or Purchase Again? [vol 2]

Batiste Dry Shampoo: This is pretty standard in terms of dry shampoo- sometimes it takes a while to blend the powder into my hair, but overall it's a staple product. This would have been a purchase again product (and it probably will be one day), but I couldn't find it at Target and picked up the Dove dry shampoo instead!

Clinique Take Off The Day Makeup Remover: This was my second or third time using this remover and I remember liking it so much more in the past. It's just okay- I think it's pretty similar to the Neutrogena eye makeup remover, so I definitely wouldn't spend the money on this again. pass.

St. Tropez Skin Polish: This exfoliater came with the St. Tropez Starter Kit and I'm not sure if you can even buy the scrubs on its own, but I really liked it. It was gentle, effective, and non-irritating. I've moved on to trying other scrubs so, pass.

Smashbox Photo Finish Face Primer light: This wasn't totally empty but it was over two years old so it was time to toss it. I haven't used it in a long time, but it is what I used in my wedding. If you're looking for a primer and have oily skin this one works really nicely. I now prefer to just use this setting spray or the Smashbox Pore Minimizing primer.

Origins Ginger Burst Savory Body Wash: If you're a fan of ginger you would love this body wash. It came in a kit I got for Christmas and it's a product that I loved, and would love to receive as a gift, but probably wouldn't spend the money on it myself. Aside from the scent it works just as nicely as my trusty Dove body wash.

Lancome Hypnose Mascara: If you've been around my blog this will be an obvious one for you! Lancome mascaras are my absolute favorite and hypnose is my favorite formula- I find that I do like it a little bit better after it's slightly dried out, but it does amazing things for your lashes! purchase again.

Have you tried any of these products? What products have you used up recently? See my last past or purchase post.

  1. Oh that Lancome mascara is amazing I used both that and Dior show on my wedding to create a fake lashes look without the fakes LOL!! I am really interested to hear your thoughts on the dove dry shampoo...that's the one I've used for the last few months and I really like it!! I'm going to have to try a face primer - you're the second person that has mentioned using one today!!! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston

  2. Batiste can only be found at Ulta, some Marshalls/TJ Maxx, and sometimes Walgreens! They used to carry it at food lion but seem to have stopped. I think they're phasing it out of walgreens, too, because I haven't seen it there in a while. Ulta is the only guaranteed place to find it! It's the only dry shampoo that works well for me.

  4. I used that Smashbox primer in the past, maybe it's time for me to circle back and try it out again as I've been having a hard time finding a primer that combats my oily skin in the FL heat.

  5. I tried the Batiste before and wasn't a fan because I found it hard to blend in my dark hair. Let me know how you like the Dove one! And I've heard amazing things about that Lancôme mascara! As soon as my mascara is out I think I'm going to give it a try!

  7. I also used the smahsbox primer on my wedding day, which was odd for me since I only use a setting spray otherwise. :) I think I need to try that mascara solely based on how you always rave about it!

  8. You are my mascara guru!
I have liked the Batiste dry shampoo for brown hair... but I think I'm overusing it. After I use it, I run my fingers through my hair and I get brown stuff under my fingernails (gross, I know). Maybe I'm just using too much product?

  9. I agree that the Batiste dry shampoo can be a little hard to blend. I get mine from Ulta.

  10. If you like dry shampoo you should totally try the Pantene one. I got it as a sample from Rent the Runway and I fell in LOVE. It is a spray (like hairspray) and no blending required! Plus the scent is great and it's cheap!

  11. one day i will try that mascara!! it's quite expensive for me though, but i've heard awesome things. i love the bastiste dry shampoo, i can only ever find it at walgreens though!

  12. Batiste is hard to find for me too. Walgreens and Ulta always have it but I never go to Walgreens and try to limit my Ulta trips ;) but I always find Batiste on Amazon in the "hint of color" brunette shade—total winner!

  14. That Lancome mascara may be the next one I try. I am still loving my MakeUp Forever mascara.
I haven't tried the Dove dry shampoo but I still love the Herbal Essences Naked dry shampoo.

  16. I have tried that dry shampoo and liked it though I default to the NYM's brand. I constantly re-purchase the Body Shop's makeup remover since it's so gently.

  18. I love Batiste but keep hearing so many great things about Dove's dry shampoo that I'm going to try that next, too! Curious to hear if you like it. And I also wasn't a fan of the Clinique eye makeup remover... I got a little trial size and only bring it on vacation and think how much I hate it every time I use it, haha!

  22. I have the exact same dry shampoo and I liked it but I have run into the same blending problem as you. My friend got me the formula for darker hair and it's been easier to blend into my hair.
Great reviews! I think I'll try out that mascara. It sounds amazing!

  23. I really enjoy the Batiste shampoo, I usually find it at TJ Maxx. I always forget that I want to try the Lancome mascara and grab a new L'Oreal one, maybe I'll remember when I'm out next. I really want to try it out!

  24. I have that St Tropez scrub also because it came with the kit, and while it works well I also wouldn't purchase it again. I feel like any scrub would do the job, it doesn't have to be a scrub from the same brand. I've tried Batiste dry shampoo back when I first got into dry shampoo but I've been testing out so many since then so I haven't repurchased it.

  25. I've been meaning to try Batiste dry shampoo but I've stockpiled a few extra bottles of Suave so I feel like I have to use them up first. Thanks for reminding me that I need to go back to incorporating primer into my routine. I used to swear by it to keep the oil at bay, but then somehow it made its way out of my regular routine. Happy Friday!

  26. Batiste is my absolute favorite dry shampoo. I don't particularly like the smell of the original one but they have like 10+ other scents and they also make one for brunettes so it shouldn't leave a white residue. You can find them at Ulta or at Marshall's for a dollars off but less of a variety to choose from.

  27. I love the Neutrogena eye makeup remover! It's an always repurchase for me. I hope it never "changes" :)

  28. This is such a neat series! Batiste is by far my favorite dry shampoo as well.

  29. What did you think of the Dove dry shampoo? I tried it a few times and every time it seemed so wet!!

  30. Let me know how you like the Dove dry shampoo. I currently use Not Your Mothers and I think its good but still am trying out other brands. Right now I have CVS brand make up remover and I feel like it works just as well as any others.

  31. I love that dry shampoo. I struggled to find one that wasn't too strong smelling, most of them are like hairspray and the Batiste is so much better

  33. Batiste is my go to dry shampoo... Ulta usually always has it. I've used the smashbox primer for special occiasions in the past, but I'll have to try out the setting spray next time. Thanks for sharing these!
