This is just a roundup of a few products I picked up over the winter months and wanted to share. Some of them were instant gems-- others not so much.

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles Treatment Concealer in light: By now you've probably seen everyone talk about this product, but I wanted to mention it because I actually don't love it... I got the shade light and I think I should have picked up the brightener shade instead. The color itself is fine but it doesn't really give me any coverage nor does it really have a brightening effect so it feels kind of pointless most of the time I use it. I think I'm just used to a thicker concealer.

Physicians Formula Argan Wear Blush in natural: I picked up this blush 100% for the packaging and ended up keeping it because it had such great pigmentation. Sometimes I find that drugstore blushes don't wear as well or last as long, but this blush lasts all day. Two things to note...there is a faint fragrance & there is a crazy gold glitter overspray. Thankfully you can just wipe off the glitter and you're left with a matte blush, and the fragrance doesn't linger or seem to irritate my skin.

L'Oreal Infallible Eyeshadow in iced latte: If you're unfamiliar with these shadows they're a really shimmery pressed eye shadow. They're one of the best drugstore products in my opinion and after hearing Mia talk about iced latte a million times I finally broke down and picked it up. It's definitely going to add a lot of shimmer to your lids but it's so pretty and brightening.

L'Oreal Brow Stylist Plumper Brow Gel in dark: I wasn't the biggest fan of this product but I really just don't think brow gels are for me. I'm not sure if it's the texture of my brows or what, but any time I try a gel it feels too crunchy(??) or weird on my brows. I have long brow hairs so it did help them stay in place, but it didn't seem to add much of a tint despite it being dark brown. If you're someone who likes brow gels, this might be a really good drugstore alternative to try!

Anastasia Brow Powder Duo in dark brown: I saved the best for last... I love this brow powder! When I got this I tested it out on one brow first and my husband literally thought I had plucked one of my brows really thin-- it was just my normal brow without the powder. I've had quite a few brow fails over the past few years trying to figure out the best way to fill them in and this is my new favorite brow product ever. I use an angled brush and apply the darker color over my entire brow and then sometimes I'll mix in the lighter shade towards the front of my brow to avoid any harshness. What are your favorite brow products?

What are some beauty products you've tried out recently? Any new favorites?

  1. Why oh why oh WHY the heck do companies do the whole glitter overspray thing? I can't stand it! Good to know about the age rewind. I've been contemplating that product for years now but haven't ever pulled the trigger hah!

  2. Good to know about that concealer. Also, I am just about finished with my Anastasia brow pencil I'm going to get the duo. I've heard great things about it!

  3. The shadow in iced latte sounds like something I would enjoy! Thanks for sharing, I need to repurchase that concealer, it's been too long! Xo

  4. I'm glad you said you didn't like the concealer - it's all I've heard people raving about and I wasn't sure about it!! Now I wont get it!! The Anastasia product sounds wonderful!! Great reviews girl! xo, Biana - BlovedBoston

  5. I tried the instant age rewind too and I didn't like it either. I think the top ended up breaking after a couple days of having it and I threw it away because I just wasn't using it.

  6. I've heard so many great things about the Anastasia brow powder! I'm definitely going to have to try it out! And I wasn't sold on the Instant Age Rewind either. It's not just you!

  8. I am totally with you on the Instant Age Rewind. Total junk. I don't think it provides any coverage. Every time some posts about it I am like wtf? Did we not use the same thing?

  10. I'm a big fan of that brow powder!! For everyday, I like fast and easy so I use Benefits brow brush but the Anastasia is definitely what I reach for when I'm really getting ready. It's so great!

  11. That PF blush is so pretty! I use clear brow gel for everyday...if I'm going to event or doing something special, I powder my brows in and then gel them. I don't like the clear gel because it picks up and adds color to all the fine hairs around my brows and then they look sloppy!

  12. I actually do like that rewind concealer... maybe because I have never used anything else & it does cover up those dark circles in the morning.

  13. oh i'm so sad you don't like the instant age rewind thingy. i love it! i can't remember if i have the light or the brightener but it works wonders for me.

  14. I'm a big fan of the age rewind brightener, I used the concealer a while back and thought it was okay but never repurchased. The brightener I will always have in my collection! That blush looks super pretty. I so don't get the point of those oversprays - so unnecessary!

  15. Yay! You got Iced Latte :) I am a fan of the brow gel, but I feel like it's like when you buy a new mascara. It's more on the "wet" side at first then gets a little better. If that makes sense haha?

  16. I think I'm the last person left on the planet who hasn't tried the Anastasia brow products. I've been two brown shadows from a little no-name quad I never used on my eyes forever and it works great... but I may have to step the brow game up when I finally run out. Also, I'm with you—gels are just not for me!

  17. I really want to try some Anastasia brow products! Everyone always loves them so as soon as my eyebrow stuff runs out I will definitely invest in it. Right now I'm using a similar thing but it's Sephora brand, I've had it for a few years now and it just doesn't want to run out lol.

  18. YES to that concealer. It takes off a bad night's sleep better than Botox could ha. It seriously covers dark circles and brightens you up like nothing else though for real. I'm loving the blush you chose, too! Great round up!

  19. Oh man I thought I was the only one who didn't like that concealer! Glad to know I'm not alone!
And that blush is so pretty! I'm a sucker for pretty packaging so I would probably be picking this up for myself! Not a fan of excess glitter but I like that it's long-lasting!

  21. I've been wondering about that Anastasia brow powder! I'm in the market. I will check it out. Right now I just use NYX brow powder and I set it with benefit brow gel. I need all the help I can in the brow department. My natural ones are so thin and light.

  22. Oooh I love reading about the concealers people are using because concealer is the one absolute must I must wear every day. I have the worst hereditary eye under circles - so covering them up is a bit of a mission! This one sounds like it probably wouldn't do the trick for me. X

  23. I love the Mabelline concealer! Also, I LOVE L'Oreal's Infallible Eyeshadow-my favorite shade is Amber Rush! I dampen my brush with some E.L.F Mist and Set or Evian Make-Up Mist before applying it and it makes the color even more pigmented/bright and stays all day!

  24. Good choices. I really like L'Oreal products! I recently tried both the Infallible liquid foundation and the Visible Lift undereye concealer, and I highly recommend both!

  26. I'm totally intrigued by that infallible shadow...I always love a good drugstore buy, so I'll be on the lookout for this one!

  27. I got all heart-eyed emoji over the packaging on that blush too, haha! I'm glad it's more than just a pretty design :) I gave up on drugstore blushes a long time ago, honestly, and I'm not in the market for any blush now anyway, but that's good to know that it actually is pigmented!
I can't do brow gels either, they're always crunchy for me. Not a good look! I know everyone raves about Anastasia. So funny about your husband! Mine always gives me the opposite response. I have to be like no, no, the thicker one is the better one haha! He's no help.

  28. I've been wanting to pick up some of those L'Oreal Infallible Eyeshadows, I love a bit of sparkle on the eye! I just recently bought the L'Oreal face spray and it's so inexpensive and really keeps your makeup in place.

  29. That brow duo from ABH is one of my favorite brow products! I was actually going to pick up the same blush for Physician's Formula, but I have been so disappointed by everything I've tried from them lately. Glad it works for you though! ;)

  31. Ooo your new beauty products look great! I will forever be a Smashbox lover. Which sucks because they're SO pricey. Sigh haha. The struggle.

  32. I love hearing about misses almost as much as the hits! I have heard such great things about that brow powder glad to hear it measured up!

  33. it's definitely the best--the anastasia--of anything i've tried. the glitter overspray on PF always drives me crazt! i don't want crazy glitter cheeks! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  34. I'm totally with you on the dark circle concealer. I tried the light version first as well, and just didn't care for it. I'm much happier with the brightener shade!

  35. I'm so glad to hear someone else say they didn't love the Instant Age Rewind, it did nothing for me. In fact, it was so bad I threw it out after a few tries :-P

  36. I have the Maybelline stick in Light too and you're totally right. It doesn't brighten. Once it's done, I'm going to get the brightener instead. Everyone says that the brightener is way better!

  37. I absolutely love that pattern on the PF blush. I'd be too afraid to use it because I wouldn't want to ruin it.
