2015: BE BETTER

Last year I attempted a 15 in 2014 list and about two months into the year I think I had lost interest in a lot of what was on it- so eventually I just forgot about it. I made a summer list, and an October list, and keeping things a little more in touch was definitely helpful for my goal setting.

With that being said, I don't have a real list of goals or plans for the year right now. I might put something together later, or come up with seasonal lists, or something similar...

But for now, in 2015 I want to BE BETTER.

Be a better friend.
Be a better wife.
Be a better daughter.
Be a better blogger.

If you read my looking back at 2014 post, you'll know that I've been thinking less about the stuff and more about the things we can't so easily measure. We get one shot at each day. Some days might not be so great, but they're still a blessing and something that is never guaranteed.

Some of the more concrete things I'd like to do this year?

Run a 5k (for real this time)
Read 50 Books
Leave my comfort zone & volunteer somewhere new
Complete the 52 week savings challenge
Find a balanced blogging schedule/routine
....

What are some of your goals for this next year? How do you find it easiest to make goals and stick to them?

  3. Being better is always a good thing to strive for. I don't have a lot of concrete goals for this year either, but I do have some abstract things I want to work on and being better is definitely one of them.

  7. I looked at the 52-week saving challenge a bunch of times, but haven't quite got the willpower to get started!

I like your last goal, I need a balanced schedule. I'm all or nothing it seems like and that doesn't work.

  9. You can do it!! We did a 52 week savings plan last year - it was a bit different in that we saved $1 in week 1, $2 in week 2, $32 in week 32, etc. I think it amounted to around $1300 and it was such a small amount each week that we didn't really "miss" the money! Good luck!

  11. This is a great way of looking at things. We can all be better in some way or another... especially when it comes to relationships with people in our lives.
Let me know how you like the savings plan. Once we committed to it, it was a breeze. :)

  18. I love this! It reminds me of my annual resolution (and daily prayer): For tomorrow (or next year, or next whatever) to be better than today (or this year, or whatever). Good luck achieving your goals! :)

  19. Short and sweet list! Sounds good. I definitely plan on reading more but I don't have a set number in my head. I read a lot over the Holiday break and realized how much I missed it.
