If you could travel for free, where would you go?

I think most people would not only have a quick answer to this question, but an entire list of places they would love to visit if money was no object. I admit, I'm a pretty big homebody, but there is nothing I crave more than an amazing vacation. It doesn't matter if it's a trip home to see my family or a beach vacation- I'm happy either way.

If right here, right now you had to choose a destination to go on a vacation (that would be free to you), where would you go?

As much as I'm dying to go to England, I think I would choose to go to Italy. I'm cheating and haven't chose just one city in Italy because I truly can't decide.

In 2008 I visited Rome, Florence, Sienna, Pisa, Capri, Sorrento, Salerno, Assisi and Naples (not in that order & I'm probably forgetting a few places) with my university and completely fell in love with the people, the history, the architecture, the Amalfi Coast, the food. To be honest, there are few words to describe the experience so here are a few pictures.

travel

There are so many places I've never been-- and I definitely want to see more of the world, but I can't imagine any place making me feel as content.

Where would you go? Do you have a top dream vacation or is it harder for you to choose? Would you go somewhere new or go back to a favorite place?

  7. brilliant post lady. no fair, you have been to italy and you wanna go back? let me go on the free vacay there first ;) if i could travel anywhere and money was no object, i would book my dream vacation to europe immediately. not picking just one city, because no. but heres my plan: london (been there twice), dublin, paris (+loire valley + versailles), italy - rome, florence + venice, and maybe amsterdam or Belgium (hubbys choice as all the others are my choice haha). hopefully this will happen next year, we'll see.

  8. This always is such a great question to ponder. Mine would be to the English countryside to visit Jane Austen's home and city where she grew up. It's been a lifelong dream of mine, and I hope to make it there someday! I also wouldn't mine getting over to Tuscany - it just looks breathtaking there.

  9. This would be SO hard to pick one place! Where wouldn't I go is the better question? Haha no but if money was no option I'd go for one of those huts over the water in Bora Bora. Dream.Vacation.

  12. Um, I want to go everywhere! We went to Italy a few years ago and loved it, but I'd definitely pick someplace new. Probably Australia/New Zealand since that's the most expensive flight! But I'd also love to do an extended tour of Europe and hit up a bunch of countries in one trip. So hard to choose!

  13. I'm with you - I'd LOVE to go back to Italy. I went through college for 3 weeks in the summer but that was back in 2006 (sigh. old.). I think Bora Bora or somewhere insanely expensive would be great too though ;)

  15. I'd jump for joy if I was given a free vacay to wherever I wanted! Although there may be some debate, I'd probably choose Greece. The pictures of Santorini are so beautiful and just want to experience that in person!

  28. I want to go so many places, I don't know how I could ever choose just one! I've been to Europe and definitely want to go back since I feel like there is still SO much there to see, but I actually feel like if I had to pick right now, I'd choose the West Coast of the US. I know, it's not super glamorous, but I'm an East Coast girl and I'm so intrigued by the other side of the country!

  30. I always dream of traveling - I love everything about it. The anticipation, packing fun clothes, flying and the trip itself....I have so many places I would love to go - Italy, Ireland, all over the rest of Europe, Australia, Bora Bora, Hawaii. To keep it closer to home my sister and I have decided that once a year we will pick a city in the US we've never been and just go for a long weekend - we haven't finalized our trip this year but can't wait to see where we end up!
